Abstract | [00:00]Dick Hazelton grew up in Eau Claire. [00:26] He was in high school during the 1940's and spoke highly of his high school director who went by the name of Sarge Boyd. [03:20] Dick was in the Air Force serving 3 years before coming back to Wisconsin and going to, what is now UWEC, the Eau Claire Teachers College where he majored in music and geography minor. [17:50] He was in the 604th Air Force Band and noted his time in a trumpet trio. [18:10] Dick discussed his involvement in bringing interest into the lackluster bands at the University. He also listed many bands that he was either involved in, or knew of that were active in the 1950s and 60s. |
